Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) Board decisions 20 March 2026

A summary of what happened at the Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) Board meeting on 20 March 2026. Not every item on the agenda is covered. Only items that required decisions to be taken are featured below.

ITEM 3 – Minutes of the previous meeting

Wendy Welland (Axe Brue Internal Drainage Board) said she had been at the meeting; the Board agreed with the Environment Agency’s suggestion that two phrases should be amended (on page 4 – to replace ‘currently spends’ with ‘aims to invest’ and page 11 – to moderate ‘The Board ordered’); with those provisos, the minutes from the SRA Board meeting on 5 December 2026 were agreed as accurate.

ITEM 4 – Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Constitution 

As recommended, the Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) Board agreed and signed the 2026-27 SRA Memorandum of Understandingand Constitution.

ITEM 8a – Quarter 3 2025-26 Finance Report

As recommended, the SRA Board noted the financial performance as at the end of Quarter 3 of 2025-26.

The Board approved the re-allocation of funds to and from contingency as per Part Two of the report.

ITEM 8b – Quarter 3 2025-26 Enhanced Programme Performance Monitoring

As recommended, the SRA Board noted the overall delivery status of the schemes and activities within the current SRA Enhanced Programme for Quarter 3 2025-26.

ITEM 9 – SRA Proposed 2026-27 Enhanced Programme and Budget

As recommended, the SRA Board approved the proposed 2026-27 SRA Enhanced Programme and Budget.
