SRA Annual Report 2025-26: Taunton Strategic Flood Alleviation Improvements Scheme (TSFAIS)
The SRA made contributions to the Taunton Strategic Flood Alleviation Improvements Scheme (TSFAIS) between 2016-17 and 2020-21, including £65,000 of Growth Deal funding which came to the SRA via the now-defunct Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership.
In 2025-26, Somerset Council and the Environment Agency continued to work on Phase 2 of one of the projects which is part of TSFAIS, designing repairs of – and replacements for – flood defences along the most vulnerable parts of the left bank of the Tone (Clarence Street, the BT Exchange, the former Poundstretcher site).
Construction is scheduled for 2027-28.
