“Great news” for Carhampton as flood risks reduced

Somerset Rivers Authority has funded work to clear a thickly overgrown brook in Carhampton, to cut flood risk in the village and along the A39. Few other places in Somerset are currently being targeted with such a range of flood alleviation activities as Carhampton.

Volunteers bag SRA grant for sandbag machine

A grant from Somerset Rivers Authority has helped to buy an automatic sandbagging machine for the Somerset branch of the Rapid Relief Team. Rapid Relief Team members previously used shovels for the back-breaking job of filling thousands of sandbags to protect people and properties.

SRA stream work cuts Minehead flood risk

Somerset Rivers Authority is reducing flood risk in Minehead by funding improvements along the Bratton Stream in Parks Walk. The aim is to enhance the stream’s capacity to carry water, while maintaining its appeal as a popular feature of Minehead’s second-biggest park.
