SRA stream work cuts Minehead flood risk

Somerset Rivers Authority is reducing flood risk in Minehead by funding improvements along the Bratton Stream in Parks Walk. The aim is to enhance the stream’s capacity to carry water, while maintaining its appeal as a popular feature of Minehead’s second-biggest park.

Positive first results from SRA dredging trials

Trials of different dredging methods on the River Parrett produced promising initial results for Somerset Rivers Authority. Evidence so far suggests that work done at the right times, in the right places, could be much cheaper, more effective, and better for the environment, local residents and farmers.
