Somerset Rivers Authority is to spend £3.44 million on 21 projects giving Somerset residents greater flood protection and resilience. All activities are designed to fulfil the objectives of Somerset’s 20 Year Flood Action Plan
Somerset Rivers Authority has funded work to clear a thickly overgrown brook in Carhampton, to cut flood risk in the village and along the A39. Few other places in Somerset are currently being targeted with such a range of flood alleviation activities as Carhampton.
Somerset Rivers Authority is reducing flood risk in Minehead by funding improvements along the Bratton Stream in Parks Walk. The aim is to enhance the stream’s capacity to carry water, while maintaining its appeal as a popular feature of Minehead’s second-biggest park.
