Aerial video: Natural flood works in the Somerset landscape

Natural flood management works filmed from the sky, with some eye-opening shots of Somerset.

Schemes featured are part of the Hills to Levels project, designed to slow the flow of water down through river catchments.

Locations include Brompton Ralph in West Somerset, and Odcombe and Montacute in South Somerset, near Yeovil.

Somerset Rivers Authority has been one of the main backers of Hills to Levels since 2015, initially using Growth Deal money from the Heart of the SW Local Enterprise Partnership and, more recently, council tax and contributions from Somerset’s Internal Drainage Boards.

Works are designed and delivered for the SRA by FWAG SouthWest, working in partnership with farmers, landowners and a range of local contractors.

The video is the ninth in a series demonstrating natural flood management techniques across Somerset. It was filmed by South West Drone Images.
